Quest Together Counseling
Empowering You to Navigate Life's Challenges and Grow
About Quest Together Counseling
Hello, my name is Sylvan Tovar, LCSW, of Quest Together Counseling, LLC. Quest Together Counseling is dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized therapy services for adults and teenagers facing life's most challenging moments. I believe that the challenges that we face throughout our lives shape us and mold us, and that we learn more about who we are and who we are growing into through surviving and overcoming those challenges. I also believe that humans are not supposed to go through it alone, and that supporting each other and working together we can find ourselves capable of more than we know. My mission is to guide and empower you to better understand your locus of control and take an active role in shaping your life. I believe that with the right support, you can navigate obstacles and emerge stronger.
I specialize in addressing a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, phase of life transitions, relationship difficulties, stress, trauma, anger, grief and loss, religious trauma, and attachment wounds. My therapeutic approach focuses on helping you develop insight, build resilience, and grow through challenge. I believe in the unique challenges that arise from intersectional experiences of ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, and generational trauma, and I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients from any background can explore their personal experiences and work toward meaningful personal growth.
Our Services
Individual Therapy for Adults
Comprehensive therapy services for adults addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, anger, and life transitions. I can help you find new tools and strategies for addressing thought and behavioral patterns that are no longer serving you, helping you to gain clarity to navigate life's challenges with confidence.
Mindfulness-Based Somatic Emotional Processing
I can help you develop tools and practices for understanding how your body is responding to the challenges in your life, both current and historic. Understanding, however, is only the beginning. I can help you learn how to listen to and support the somatic expressions of anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma through a practice of mindfulness
RTM for Trauma work
I am trained and certified in the RTM Protocol, which stands for Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories. It is a safe and non-triggering neurological intervention aimed at reducing or eliminating PTS symptoms by targeting specific traumatic memories and processing them from a safely dissociated distance.
